ReallityWanted does an interview with Jessica (You're Cut Off 2)

RealityWanted Interview With Jessica

Realitywanted did an exclusive interview with Jessica from You're Cut Off 2 about her experience on the show.

SOURCE

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did you end up on You're Cut Off?
A. Jessica: I found the casting information through RealityWanted. I got all the information and applied to the show.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You must have been surprised when you found out what show you were actually on, since they told you it was a show about girls looking for their big break.
A. Jessica: I was definitely shocked, even though I probably should've seen it coming. It was all too good to be true. I didn't expect it at all. I didn't think I had any sort of a reason to be on there but after going through the process, I learned a lot about myself.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did you watch season 1 of the show?
A. Jessica: I have never seen it before so when they said, "You're on You're Cut Off," I was totally confused. Amy had seen it and was like, "No!" I had never heard of it before.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was it like to be around all of those girls, who have big personalities?
A. Jessica: It was definitely a test of my patience. It was difficult at times because you have seven girls with huge personalities. Everyone seemed to be pretty confrontational. I had to let a lot of thing slide. You'll go crazy! You just learn the things that push certain people and what didn't and how to live amongst each other.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You got to work with Laura Baron, a life coach, on the show. What did you learn from her?
A. Jessica: Working with Laura was good because she pointed out a lot of things that I didn't see in myself before. I knew I was excessive but she put things into perspective. I was very quick to make judgments on the other girls and not listen to them but she walked me through having patience with people before cutting them off. She definitely taught me a lot about giving people a chance.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was the hardest task that you had to complete?
A. Jessica: I would say that the hardest task was living with the girls. The challenges were not that difficult to get through. It was hard work but it was attainable to complete where as living with the girls was a challenge every day. One bathroom...

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What did you take away from your experience on You're Cut Off?
A. Jessica: The thing I took away mostly was that you have to appreciate everything in your life, every second of every day. Being on the show, we're not only cut off from finances but we're cut off from our family and friends. Just appreciating the little things you have with your friends and family.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Despite the fact that were you basically tricked into being on the show, are you glad that you ended up on it?
A. Jessica: You know, I'm definitely happy for the experience I had with You're Cut Off because it taught me a lot about myself. I learned to live without all my things. In the first episode, they took away 90% of the stuff I came with. I was fine. I survived. I made the most of it. You have to adapt to situations in life. Not everything is going to be perfect like you expect.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What did your friends and family think when it aired?
A. Jessica: Some of my friends were really shocked and my family really enjoyed the show. They know who I am. My friends were surprised to see a different side of me on tv because we were put in situations where we talk about the things we have a lot. In real life, I don't like to talk about the things I have. I don't show off. For my friends to see me in that light was weird but they know it was all for the show and for tv. They had a lot of fun on Monday nights.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Did being on the show make you want to do more television?
A. Jessica: I definitely caught the bug. I would love to do more tv, reality tv, any tv! It was a great experience and the exposure has allowed me some amazing opportunities. I've been able to do things with charities that I'm part of. It's been great in that sense. Without the notoriety, you wouldn't be able to be a celebrity spokesperson at events.

VH1access Interview: Aimee (You're Cut Off)

VH1access Interview

I did an interview with Aimee from You're Cut Off 2.  We discuss about her time on the show and the other girls. Check out her Twitter page

Hey Aimee how are you?
I'm doing great thanks! Enjoying life and everything that's happened since the show!

So how was your experience on You're Cut Off 2?
*o wow...my experience on the show was definitely something different...I'm very glad I saw the program through to the end because underneath all the drama there were actually some life lessons to be learned.

Have you seen the show before?
I literally caught 3 minutes of the episode where Erica Rose was Gias boss...after the commercial came on I couldn't watch anymore...lol!

What was your favorite challenge on the show?
if I had to pick one I would definitely go with the "giving back" challenge, simply because we were finally required/able to think about someone other than ourselves for a change.  Even though Hana made it very difficult for me and a few of the other girls during the challenge, I didn't let that stop me from giving up half the clothes I came on the show with, and even the shoes on my feet.

You had altercations with Jennifer and Hana. Are you cool with those
girls> now?
jen and I squashed our beef long before she left the show...I've kept in touch with her by phone, and I believe she's doing great...I keep in touch with hana on fb and twitter, she and I got over our issues before we left the show.  In short, no hard feelings to either of them!

Did Nadia really fell off that horse? I need to know
from what we were told and the few bruises she showed us, I'm assuming she fell off...but none of us ever actually saw it happen...all I'm going to say is she sure was well enough to bang pots and pans, scream, yell, stomp around, and stop taking her pain meds so she could drink alcohol...just sayin...

Which girls did you get along with the most?
in the end the girls I really keep close contact with are lauren and jessica.  For me, they were the girls who understood the frustrations I had with some of the girls, and they were always encouraging me to ignore the mess.

Laura Baron Blogs About Charlie Sheen

Laura Baron Talks About Charlie Sheen

You're Cut Off life coach Laura Baron blogs about the celebrity everyone is talking about....... Charlie Sheen.  she made a bog post titled " Charlie Sheen Intervention" She says that we are no better and that society needs an intervention.

Here is a portion of her blog post

Charlie Sheen is a direct reflection to everyone in this society struggling with the addiction of grandeur, never owning up to responsibility.  While his camp bails and he stands alone choosing only the company of people who’ve made careers screwing others on the public stage, we feel a sense of relief and distance from the disaster. Don’t give yourself that out.  Use this as a reminder, no one is free from consequence – nothing can buy away the truth. Not even Hollywood can Technicolor Charlie’s fall.
This is not about him alone, this is about the false sense of human value this society celebrates.  We honor people for what they have, what they look like and then sit and watch while they drown in the shallow end thankful it’s not us.  This is not okay, it’s personal.  That ability to excuse Charlie because he seems to be an addict, is the same skill set we use to write off our own responsibility.  We need to hold each other and ourselves accountable.   Do your part. The world owes you nothing until you work to prove you deserve something.

VH1access Interview: Jennifer (You're Cut Off 2)

Jenn Jowett Interview

Here is my exclusive with Jennifer from You're Cut Off 2. She explains a lot that went on the show. She also talks about her thoughts on Lsura Baron. Is she in good terms with her? Follow her on Twitter

Hey Jennifer how have you been?
I'm doing really well, starting to get things back in order after all the chaos the last month has brought.

You left You're Cut Off  on a  bad note. Do you regret even being on the show?
I try not to regret anything I do, because I believe everything happens in life as it is supposed to. For one reason or another I was supposed to be on that show and go through what happened. I don't really agree with leaving on a bad note however. I left when I was ready to, when I felt enough was enough and it actually made quite the impact. I still value relationships I have with production and other cast mates and although I didn't graduate, I still look at what was trying to be taught to us and have a different view on how I come across.  There is no better way to change yourself, than to see right before your eyes what needs to change.

I know editing can be a bitch, do you think this show made you look like a bad person?
Ha. Yes, editing can be a bitch.  In fact I know almost every girl has cringed and wanted to gasp, "thats not even what happened!" I think the show did what it needed to do to get ratings and at my cost.  I think the viewers who flip through the channels and catch bits and pieces will of course think I am a bitch, a drunk, ugly, etc. They choose to keep me in that light as much as possible.  But I think people who look deeper will see a funny girl who is still growing and figuring things out and knew that setting wasn't the best place for it.

On TMZ  it says that you blame Laura Baron for your DUI charge. Why do you blame her?
Well lets get one thing straight. On any media interview you can not be held accountable for things that are not in quotations.  On some level, yes I do think the show took things to far, to where they could have had the drama factor but still kept the exploiting to a level that a person could handle.  That was not the case.  Now as a show host or life coach, whichever, the show was thought up and created by her and she had the full knowledge of what we would be going through. I did not. That being said, I do expect a certain level of professional guidance on whether this was healthy for me or toxic. On the show as well as after it and while it was airing. On no level did Baron make me leave my apartment that night. I've heard all the "oh she's blaming everyone but herself" comments, but I'm not. I hold myself accountable but I also expect Baron to take accountability for her part, and that was attributing to a downward spiral, which has caused me a large amount of anxiety and was extremely hard to sit through.

What are your issues with Laura Baron?
Laura and I have had our ups and downs. I am not going to bash Laura Baron, because right now I am at a point where I would like to heal and let this anger go.  I wish she had been there for me throughout some of the tough footage.  That was my only issue, where did this support system go when I needed it the most. It confused me, and I felt let down. I have to be careful how much I invest in people. I hope in the future she and I can be friends because I felt a strong connection with her. But for right now with the controversy I think it is best to just let things cool down.

You got along Hana in the house. Was she the only person you got along with?
Hana and I are best friends.  We had an instant connection in the house and I am so glad to have met her because we talk to each other everyday!  In the house I actually got along with everyone, really. Of course there were times when there was drama but thats TV.  You can only be so upset with someone that is in the same boat with you before you just laugh and say whatever. We are all a family and I feel that is special for our cast to have that.  I miss all the girls and would love to see some sort of end of the show reunion/party to put closure on such a wild experience.

What are your thoughts on Aimee? You had several altercations with her.
Oh, Aimee and I are totally fine. She taught me a few things you know! I will never pull a weave again! I think Aimee and I had two of the biggest personalities and walking into a show we just clashed. But after the first week we actually became really close because we had already pushed eachothers buttons. I think we were both out of our comfort zones and we naturally rebeled against the situation, but after that I felt a bond with Aimee because we had gone through that and I thought she was real. i knew where she stood and she stood her ground, and I respect that.

What have you been doing now since your departure?
I pent some time in Florida with my family and right now I am taking a fashion class. I have a lot to sort through, so I am working on that daily.

Would you do another reality show?
I would, but I would like to know what to expect and what the circumstances were to know if it was the right fit for me.

Thank you Jennifer for this interview. Do you want to give shout out to anyone?
All the girls, they all are amazing and funny and I love them for just being who they are.

VH1 Interviews You're Cut Off Life Coach Laura Baron

VH1 interview You're Cut Off life coach Laura Baron who is back for season 2 of You're Cut Off which airs Monday January 10th at 9:PM. She talks the new girls and she also says that season 2 will be MORE intense than the 1st.

Basically, I want to know in general how the season was for you. Was it more intense than the first? Less intense? Compare and contrast, if you would.

From a team perspective, it was more intense in that the entire production team understood – and I experience this in my daily world — but we all understood the kind of impact we can make on these girls’ lives. In the beginning, we believed it. After the first season, we saw it. It’s hard for me to say because I believe that the success of this show is steeped in our Season 1 girls being able to give like they did. So it’s very difficult for me to compare because the Season 1 girls gave us the platform for this. That said, the Season 2 girls gave on a level and came in on a level that did have a different intensity. They allowed us in much sooner, and as a result, it felt more intense.

Is it possible to compare and contrast the two groups of girls?
I think Season 2 was much more individualized. It is very clear that each girl brought their own separate bucket of challenges. The girls were responsive and reacted to each other, but there was definitely an understanding that individually they really wanted to own this process and that they really understood from a very individual and personal journey what this was going to mean. In Season 1 that definitely happened for them, but I think you felt more of the group moving and growing, whereas here, you saw sparks of each individual moving and growing at very different times.

I assume that at least some of them have been aware of the show or at least seen the first season.
Well, yes. The first day that I walked in, I was very aware that these girls had the potential of understanding what this program was about. And if they hadn’t seen the program, it didn’t take them long to understand how intense it actually was. And every girl that I had talked to since has admitted that in the beginning as Season 1 girls didn’t take it seriously, they didn’t feel like they were going to be cut off, and yet there was a moment. And they each had different moments. Their timing was very different and I think that is really the key difference between the two seasons. It really is that Season 1 had more a group thing to it and you saw a different dynamic. You saw growth with people in different times and different ways. Here it’s all individual.

Is that to say that there is a lot of discord between the group? Is there a lot of cattiness or fighting, even?
Because it’s such an individual process for them, I think the girls are challenged to make a stand in the house and have their voice heard. They don’t have their natural tools to distract them.

I know that you’re obviously, extremely invested in the process, and I also know that you watch this show very avidly. Is there any kind of cognitive dissonance in your appreciation of this show? So much of the entertainment value comes from watching these women act out and seeing the entitled princess get her comeuppance.

I not only recognize but appreciate their bold personalities. I love their sense of humor, I love the flavor that they bring and I appreciate that. I don’t mind when somebody comes back at me. I don’t mind when somebody comes back at somebody else. What that means is that they are moving forward, that they are thinking this through, that they are growing on some level. It’s not always in the direction that I want, but you often have to take a step back to move forward. And I love the humor that they bring with it. If you can’t have humor in your own journey, there’s very little value to it because you’re not going to stick with it. So as a TV show, I’m grateful that these girls do have such a way of expressing themselves. I also think it’s helpful for the audience. We can all relate to what these girls are saying. We might not want to say it in the same way, but that’s what makes them beautiful. They’re willing to be bold and they’re willing to be raw. Watching these girls is cathartic. And that’s the truth for the girls too: the girls see themselves and it’s a really phenomenal opportunity for them to reevaluate how they’re communicating.

Obviously part of the reason that they’re cast on the show is because of their difficult personalities. I know you came up against some direct insults in Season 1, particularly from Chrissy. Does that ever offend you personally, regardless of your expectations?
I am not superhuman and I would never claim to be. I don’t know if I would say that it’s offensive, because I know it’s a defense mechanism and I know they are stopping and impeding their own growth and their own process. What saddens me is that there’s only so much that I am willing to take and there is only so much that the group should have to take. Because in the end, it’s not gonna do anybody good. And if they’re not willing to own their stuff, I’m not gonna do their work for them, and that’s really the bottom line. If they’re not willing to work it, and they’re not willing to be respectful of the process, then I’m not going to allow one girl’s drama to kill the potential. And P.S. - more than anything personal, because I don’t take it personal, I don’t value that communication. I expect better, period. I think that’s what a lot of these girls are missing: strong expectations in their lives.

I wondered if we could go through the new girls and have you give me your first impressions of them. Aimee comes first alphabetically.

I think she is quintessential hard-shell, soft-heart.

How about Hana?
When I first got her, she was really guarded but excessively determined.

How about Jenn?
Let’s say fiery? That’s fun. And she gets it. She’s savvy, that’s what it is.

How about Jessica?
She is deeper than she gives you upfront. I knew that from the start.

What about Lauren?
She feels ready to launch. It seems as though she’s self-confined. She held back, she felt like she was behind a wall but she was ready. You could tell that she was.

Marcy is next.
She was such an interesting combination. I think she was self-assured yet vulnerable.

Nadia.
I already used vulnerable with Marcy…Nadia was brave but ironically delicate, yeah.

And finally Shakyra.
Limited is not the word but she was unreachable.

Is there anything else you can offer by way of a preview? Just what people should expect overall from the season?
I think that these girls really show that you can’t judge anybody by your first impression and that everybody deserves an opportunity to show who they really are. I think the greatest part about this season is that when you set expectations and you set boundaries, people rise to the occasion. It’s not always an easy task, but there’s always a reward.
