New VH1 show Basketball Wives coming in March
Yet another VH1 show on the half-hour docu-soap tip is coming to VH1 next year. Basketball Wives will follow the lives of loves and ex-loves of such basketball players as Shaquille O’Neal, Eric Williams, Antoine Walker, Jermaine O’Neal and Udonis Haslem. Check the press release below for info on Basketball Wives:
VH1 has teamed up with the wives and girlfriends of some of the NBA’s most elite players to give the viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the glamorous life of a professional basketball player’s wife in VH1’s original series, Basketball Wives. Production is set to begin on the series in December 2009. The eight-episode 30-minute series is set to premiere on March 15, 2010.
This series is about the insider life of the wives, girlfriends and a few ex-wives of some of the biggest ballers in the game. These ladies live the life. They drive the best cars, live in the biggest mansions, wear designer clothes and jewelry and only travel first class. But living the high life is not all glamour. In order to protect it, they have to deal with the jealousies and dramas of living in — and staying in — the inner circle. They must also keep the groupies at bay while their husbands and boyfriends are traveling on the road for over six months of the year playing ball all-the-while wondering if their spouses are being faithful to them.
The cast is filled with the wives and ex-wives of superstars including Jennifer Williams (wife of Eric Williams), Evelyn Lozada (ex-fiancĂ© of Antoine Walker), Mesha O’Neal (wife of Jermaine O’Neal), Royce Reed, Faith Rain (Udonis Haslem’s girlfriend) and Shaunie O’Neal (wife of Shaquille O’Neal) who will also serve as executive producer on the series.

How can Royce Reed be on this show, when her baby daddy clearly stated that she was never his girlfriend. She spewed so much venom about him in the months of Sept. and Oct. on Twitter, most of which she would tweet then erase, that he got a gage order against her so that she can't say his name, nicknames or anything direct or indirectly about him. So what the hell is she going to talk about that is of any interest to me or any other basketball fan? I don't plan on watching that show and I hope his 1.3 million plus other fans follow suit. You need to check out her tweets and those of the people she enlists to try an hurt his reputation. I don't follow her and I never will. I think it is sad that she does this, yet I have never read not one single word against her from him on his Twitter page or other wise. She just may do that show more harm than good. I fully intend to descourage everyone that I know from watching that show.
ReplyDeleteOk, VH1. The show is entitled "VH1 Basketball Wives". Not, girlfriends or ex-girlfriends. Clearly Royce Reed is trying to become a celebrity at the expense of her son being child of NBA player. Royce is an "EX", a "has been". She cannot say her baby-daddy's name directly nor indirectly. She cannot even make reference to him. So what is she going to talk about? Is she good friends with the producer? Is that how she got to be an add in the show? This female lives for drama. Thats why she currently has a gag order against her. Is this the type of publicity VH1 wants or is the company in need of higher viewer ratings? I will not watch the show and I have a lot of other friends/family members who are protesting as well. I'm sure Royce's producer friend may still go on with the show as planned, and if so shame on VH1 for allowing it to happen. Royce is a big liar over-dramatizes everything and would hurt the credibility of the show. You can try to make this one happen, but I def do not see longevity for this show if Royce is allowed to be a part of it.
