Tough Love Season 2 Finale Review

Season 2 finale in Review

Here are my thoughts on the season 2 finale of Tough Love.  I really like the way they did this seasons finale , unlike last season.

This finale had a lot more closure than last season. Last season we all wondered what happen to the the women and their relationships. they gave us a brief info of what happened to the girls after on the 1st season I thought that was lame. Season 2 finale was more detailed. I really the idea of the promise rings. Each girl had to give the guy their promise rings in order to continue to persue their relationships. I did not expected all of the guys to say yes, I was a  bit surprised that all of them said yes. This time none of the girls got kicked out like with Arain last season. Taylor went all out this season.  I am going to be doing an interview with Taylro soon. The thing that I always wonder is that how come they is no Tough love Reunion?  They should have a Tough Love reunion show so we can finf out what happened after the show.  Overall the finale was really good.

my rating 8/10

  1. 1. I am curious to the VH1 Tough Love 2 fans opinions of the longevity of the girl’s relationships after the show. Only Tina had the guts to turn down the guy she had been with the whole show based on her values. All the others simply gave their rings away as if it was a stick of gum they would offer up to anyone. Jenna, for heaven’s sake, dated the guy for a whole day and then had a commitment to him, that’s weak. But I feel as if she was able to change the least out of all the girls on the show and was constantly an annoyance to the viewer. However, on the other hand I saw three girls I was very impressed with from the beginning of the show to the end. I was amazed that Angel was able to break down here walls from stripping and the lust of men. She found herself and love along the way, along with someone to take care of her son which was the more important issue. Kenisha, wow, where do you start? Watching the first episode I thought “Couldn’t stand her and her gold digging for more than ten or twenty minutes” and she was the type of girl that would instantly turn away. She came a long way to become a very decent a good caring woman. I am interested in every other fans opinions and look forward to hearing about how the girls changed and how everyone thinks their relationships will go, and what is next for Tina?

  2. 2. I’ll try my best to take my guesses at the future that each girl has after the show. Starting with Liz my best guess is that she and Dave do not make it in the long run. She still seems to needy for more than one man’s attention. Kenisha on the other hand I see her and her dream guy working well and possibly making the relationship work in the long run. She was able to make a great change and commit to a serious relationship. Next up the wild one, Rocky, who knows with that girl if she will keep her guy, even though those pj’s were cute in the second to last episode I believe a relapse back to her old ways is very possible. Maybe she will realize that she is far from a rock star and keep her man for her and her daughter. With kids on the mind Angel enters the picture. Although Adam was difficult to read, he was a great guy who was down to earth and the fact that she was a stripper didn’t affect him and he has to get credit for that. Since she moved to Cali I do think they will tie the knot and raise he son. Sally seemed to find herself and make a man fall in love with her. With those big brown eyes I think keeping her man won’t be too tough. My vote for Jenna is that she is to negative and hopeless and will be the old single lady while Tina will soon find Mr. Right. Alicia was one of my favorites and her man took a big step on the last show to push the relationship forward which I think will stand in the long term.

  3. The man that makes the world go round in Tough Love the all knowing and all intelligent Steve. You never hear his last name mentioned and he occasionally gives credit to his mom on the show, but his mastermind schemes and games keep the girls and viewers coming back show after show and season after season. As the girls consider him on the show a handsome man with a quick tongue Steve has the amazing abilities to change girls in a few short weeks from a stripper to a house wife. His process is incredible.
I was amazed this season when Steve really outdid himself to show the girls what single life in the long run was like. First, he sends them in to the best makeup artists known to man (he has some crazy connections apparently, well him or VH1 producers). Following the new make under; the now old ladies next door head out to the bar to party like its 1922. There they are met by a group of twenty to thirty year old men who are all nice but disappointed. Some of the girls do a tremendous job having fun with the young men while others like Jenna sit back and feel bad for themselves. Following this eye opening experience Steve pulls three more connections out of his sleeve. This time it is real life old women who did not ever meet the right man in life and are sad and lonely. Of course this sparks the estrogen levels and tears begin to flow. This shock to the reality of life brings the girls to the common ground that none of them want to be single forever. Unfortunately, for Jenna she will be. However, this task once again shows the greatness of the one they call Steve and leaves us all asking one question…

The best part about being a fan of the nightly VH1 shows is you know there will always be multiple seasons. No matter what the program, no matter how bad (Flavor of Love), VH1 should place a guarantee on the fact that a season two will run. But how about season three for Tough Love. How will VH1, Steve, and the producers switch up the show? My best guess, which I think the ladies would love but my cost VH1 in the sex appeal category, bringing men on the show. How would Steve handle a group of hard headed men heading down the path of a forever single life? This would be a great curveball for the fans of VH1 and Tough Love. This would also present new situations and games for Steve and his mother, who he gives too much credit too. But wait, would having men on the show bring in a greater need for momma bear on the show? Who knows? Guess we will wait and see.

VH1 has slacked a little bit on a follow up show or a reunion. I am disappointed lately when I turn on the old tube and am only able to watch all the shows that I have already seen over and over again. Do I want to see a new I Love New York? Absolutely not, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a Tough Love reunion show. Judging from the VH1 website, however, it does not seem likely a reunion show will be coming anytime soon. I am still anxious to find out what curves and roads the girls went down after the show and who they really are. I think VH1 kind of forgets that the audience really likes to know the people they watch on TV. They want their background, their home life, and what they had for breakfast all in a tight little hour long bundle of fun. However, I can give them credit for finding a medium between Jerry Springer and The Bachelor in most of their shows. But Tough Love is a classy and enjoyable show that will keep its loyal viewers coming back season after season. The joy of trying to guess the next fun task the girls (or maybe guys) will go on next makes us tune in every Sunday night at
