Brandy Is 'Not Okay' Being Single

Brandy

The R & B singer, who calls herself a hopeless romantic, admits she is unhappy and wants a man in her life. "I put myself in the eyeline of love, but I can't quite get it together," she tellsPopEater. "I'm not okay being single because I'm a relationship girl. I love the romance."

Brandy was romantically involved with producer Robert "Big Bert" Smith and gave birth to their daughter, Sy'rai, in 2002. However, a year after the birth, the couple officially announced their separation. Since then, Brandy hasn't been very lucky in the love department, admitting earlier this year that she hasn't had sex in six years.

Although the single mother hasn't found Mr. Right, she's still holding out hope. "He's out there. He's just taking too long. It's like 'Dude. Hurry up! Where are you?'"

Now that her daughter is older, Brandy is giving herself more time to go out and start dating again. What's she looking for in her dream guy? "He has to be funny because I love to laugh. Driven, creative, motivated and inspired. He has to be a loving guy, who loves his mom and family. And, of course, easy on the eyes. That always helps," she gushes.

But at the end of a long day, Brandy says the love from her family and friends is what truly matters. "I have a good family and support system who've helped me with my daughter for years. They've helped me balance everything in my life. I'm blessed," she reveals.

The Norwoods -- Brandy, brother Ray J and gospel-singing father Willie -- recently teamed up for their first family collaboration, entitled 'Talk to Me,' just in time for the second season of VH1's 'Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business,' which debuts Dec. 5 at 11PM EST.

Brandy admits the recording session brought back a lot of emotions for her. "It reminds me of when we were little. All we did was sing with my dad in the choir and in the car on the way to church. To be on a record with them is a blessing. Music is our first love," she says.

The single also marks the end of Brandy's two-year hiatus from music, and she is hard at work on her sixth studio album. "The fans are like, 'Please come back! Please come back.' They deserve the music, so I want to give them everything I've got on this new album."
