All I ever Wanted is due out on March 10th
New Cascada single due out in April
CASTLETON singer/song writer Alistair Griffin could soon be making a hit across the Atlantic.
Alistair, whose parents still live in the village but is now based in York, revealed he’s been offered a record deal in America.
He told the Whitby Gazette: “I’ve been offered a record deal in America by a leading independent record company.
“It would involve releasing an album as well as a single and doing a tour of the States.
“I’m considering it but I haven’t signed anything yet – obviously it’s a big undertaking. I’m still writing material for my own album but I’ve also been doing lots of writing for other acts including Diana Vickers and Laura White from X Factor.”
Alistair is playing every month through the year in London, showcasing new material at the Cobden Club in Notting Hill, an exclusive acoustic venue.
And a song he has written for dance act, Cascada, is set to come out soon, with a release date scheduled for this April.
The 31-year-old, who found fame when he came second in BBC1’s Fame Academy where he was championed by guest judge Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, has also been working with his local regular co-writer John Squirrel on a comedy project for the BBC’s Radio 4.
The pair both attended Whitby Community College and are the same age.
Never one to relax, Alistair is still working away on new material and the future is looking bright with lots of exciting stuff to come.
He visits his family in Castleton regularly and his local fans will be delighted to know he’s planning a concert at Whitby Coliseum this spring with more details to be released nearer the time.
