The funeral for former Kris Kross rapper Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly will be held next week in Atlanta, Ga., exactly one week after his passing from a possible drug overdose.
The arrangements are being handled by the Murray Brothers Funeral Home. They confirmed the funeral service was scheduled for Thursday at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church. However, the public can pay their respects to the "Jump" rapper the day before. The funeral home will hold a public viewing on Wednesday beginning in the afternoon.
"Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him," said Kelly's mother and the So So Def family in a statement. "His legacy will live on through his music, and we will forever love him.”
The 34-year-old Kelly was found unresponsive at his home last Wednesday (May 1.) An autopsy concluded that foul play had not been involved in his untimely death.
