The X Life Coming Soon To VH1

xlives

It seems like VH1 is now going towards the sports trend, first Basketball Wives, then Chad Ochocinco's dating show, Football Wives and now the newest sports show called The X Life which is about famous men in action sports and their girlfriends.

Press Release:

The X-Life will follow some of the biggest names in action sports: Pierre Luc Gagnon(Vert Skater) and his girlfriend Denise RussoCory “Nasty” Nastazio (BMX Dirt Jumper) and his girlfriend Nicole Panattoni; and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenburg (FMX) and his wifeSusie Stenberg.  All of these men have earned their place in the sports history books.
As for the ladies, they have their own careers from helping to manage and market their husband’s careers to being a top model to being a mom.  But when these guys are on tour you can bet the women are nearby as these guys are always on the edge of being seriously injured or worse. These wives are fiercely protective, defensive and ready to throw down at a moment’s notice. And if your husband isn’t on the tour, good luck breaking into their clique.  These women are a tight-knit sorority bound by one common thread–their adrenaline junkie husbands.
“The stars of action sports and the women who love them don’t just live life on the edge they go beyond it whether they’re on the track, the trail or just living their lives and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring that wild ride to VH1,”  stated Jeff Olde, EVP of Original Programming and Production, VH1.  “The couples of The X Life will bring a real adrenaline rush to TV.”
VH1.com and VH1 Mobile will offer sneak peek clips, extra content and full episodes of the series when it premieres in early 2011.
VH1’s The X Life is executive produced by Cris Abrego for 51 Minds Entertainment, LLC. an Endemol Company and Joe Simpson for JT Entertainment. Ben Samek and Rabih Gholam for 51 Minds also executive produce for the series and the company. Jeff Olde, Jill Holmes and Sean Boyle are executive producers for VH1.

Katy Perry Digital Boob Reduction for VH1 Divas

Guess Katy Perrylearned a lesson or two from her experience at “Sesame Street,” including her ABCs (and D-cup).
The singer, whose boobs wereenough to turn Elmo red, is now featured on a poster for VH1’s “Divas Salute the Troops,” which airs on December 5.
But Perry wanted to make sure her cleavage wasn’t too much for the cable network, so her breasts were reduced… digitally.
As opposed to reports that it was her handlers who demanded the reduction, Perry says it was her decision.
She tweeted, “I was the one who asked VH1 to tone down my DIGITALIZED image on the poster, particularly the size of my chest.”
Perry added, “I don’t have handlers.”
Do you think Perry needed to alter her own picture? - via gossipcop.com

Eric Roberts Celeb Rehab 4 Confessions

The Expendables' and "The Young and the Restless" star Eric Roberts gets candid with our own Samantha Harris about his struggle with drug addiction, the mistakes he's made in the past, his relationship with sister Julia Roberts and his hard-fought redemption on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
"I've been a pothead all my adult life," says Eric. On "Celebrity Rehab," he specifies, "Anything bad or negative that ever happened in my career or in my personal life had to do with the abuse of drugs, completely."
Asked what made him start smoking pot, he tells Samantha, "I liked it, it makes me nice, and I'm basically by nature a curmudgeon, so smoking pot makes you very pleasant." He adds, "I did cocaine all the time for about 10 years."
In the early '80s, Eric's career was full steam ahead, with memorable performances in such movies as 'Star 80,' 'The Pope of Greenwich Village' and 'Runaway Train,' for which he was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar. But drugs derailed his career, and a car crash nearly killed him.
"I just had to fight for my physical survival after that," says Eric, who had been in a coma. "I was so broke and so hurt, I thought if I don't get well in a certain time frame I'm gonna end this."
Eric married his wife Eliza in 1992. Although cocaine-free, he was struggling with the side effects of prescription medications, and in 1995 his life reached a boiling point: He was arrested for suspected spousal abuse.
"We had a huge argument," recalls Eric. "She was begging me not to drive my car, and I pushed her away and I get in the car and drove away."
"It's a good thing because it's a wake-up call," says Eliza.
Fifteen years later, their marriage is as strong as ever, and Eliza says that Eric hasn't done any alcohol or drugs beside pot since 1995. "To be honest, if that hadn't stopped, I wouldn't have stayed," she says.
Eric also talks about his relationship with sister Julia Roberts, and says tabloid reports of their estrangement are baseless.
"We have our arguments and we have our love," he reports. "The press understands less than one percent of it. We don't have problems. We talk almost every day via e-mail and we're great and have been for years."
The former Oscar nominee adds humbly, "I am more famous for being brother to a very famous sister and father to a very famous daughter."
That daughter, of course, is Emma Roberts, and Eric says, "We don't have a broken relationship. We never did, and my child is someone that I'm very proud of and I also don't want to ever embarrass her."
Eric says he has been sober for about 150 days, ever since "Celebrity Rehab."
"What I got out of 'Celebrity Rehab' was more than I ever bargained for," he says. "I learned more in that three weeks about kindness than I've learned in the past 25 years from anybody except my wife."
Season four of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" premieres December 1 on VH1, with a cast that also includes Jeremy London ("Party of Five," "7th Heaven"), Rachel Uchitel(infamous party planner), Janice Dickinson ("The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency"), Leif Garrett (musician), Frankie Lons (Keyshia Cole's Mother), Jason Wahler ("The Hills") andJason Davis (socialite).

Fantasia Interviews With SFgate.com

Q: Let's start with a list: Win "American Idol"? Check. Write autobiography? Check. Movie? Check. Reality show? Check. Broadway? Check. Top 10? Check. You don't need to go on tour. You can just retire now.
A: No, no, no. There's so much more to do. I look up to all those great artists like Aretha FranklinChaka Khan and Diana Ross. They can still hit the stage and do their thing. I want to be like that. I have a long way to go.

Q: If you could step into a time machine and go back to the day before your first "Idol" audition, how would you prepare yourself for the past six years?
A: I don't know if I can answer that. But I know I wouldn't change a thing. Even though there were rough times - there were blows I wasn't ready for - I wouldn't change anything. I can say that today.

Q: Are you amazed you're standing here today?
A: When you're a celebrity, people sometimes make you out to be a robot. They forget we're only human. I'm that artist who says I'm just like you. Whatever is going on in my life, I'm not ashamed about expressing it and talking about it. It makes it seem to people like, "This girl has been through so much." But I will always be that artist who puts it out there. I don't know what other way to be.

Q: Does that kind of honesty get you in trouble sometimes?
A: No, because I want to get it all out there. I run into a lot of people who come up to me and begin to share things with me. And I always think, "I can't believe they said that to me!" It's because I've been open, so people feel like they can be open with me. I'm a young girl who can sing. It doesn't make me different from anybody else.

Q: Who was the first person to call you after you got out of the hospital following your suicide attempt?
A: I won't watch my VH1 show, but I turned on the TV last night and it happened to be about the hospital. At first I didn't want to watch the show because there are lots of things I don't want to relive. But I decided to face it. So I watched it and I cried again. All those people I was trying to please, none of them were there for me when I got out of the hospital. I don't care anymore. My caring is what sent me to that dark place not too long ago. I was so worried about pleasing everyone around me, I forgot about myself. That side of me is long gone.
