Vh1 TRANSform Me Laverne Speaks on Model Lea T

August 1, 2010 -- Lea T, the famous Brazilian model, who is in the midst of a sex change transition, gets a big gig on the cat walk to become an official supermodel thanks to Givenchy.
News today from ABC says the former Leandro Cerezo -- the 28-year-old child of former soccer star Toninho Cerezo -- is undergoing gender reassignment as she commands the post of Givenchy's new fall ad campaign.
The process is slow for this famous face who has been undergoing the alteration for several years.
One of many transgender people have found their way into the world of fashion, according to Laverne Cox of VH1's 'Transform Me,' Leandro Cerezo or Lea T is the first to make it to the stage as a supermodel.
Until recently, Lea T lived in her native South American country as a man, but Leo is now happily living as a woman in Brazil where she has maintained top model status for some time. Now, with the freshly assigned Givenchy international campaign, this beautiful human being is being touted as a supermodel around the world.
So, as Lea T undergoes sex gender reassignment, her change is in transition but her career is right on track.
