Future VH1 Reality Stars & Bad Official Hot Mess Interview

When did you first realize you had an interest in music and what sparked that interest?

Kristy: Well we began creating music for enjoyment and as a hobby when we were little kids, and we wrote our first song when I was around five years old. It’s always been a passion for us. Blondie, Heart, Cindy Lauper – they’ve all been huge inspirations for us.

Lindsay: There really was no specific time we decided to make music. It’s always been in our hearts since we were infants.

What drives and inspires you to do what you love?

Kristy: That’s a tough question. I think we’re inspired by anything and everything that happens to us, from being in love to being rejected in the music industry. We write about everything. It’s very therapeutic for us.

Lindsay: We’re very thankful to have this chance and opportunity and I think that’s something that inspires us.

If you had the chance to work or record with anyone, who would you choose?

Kristy: I’d love to work with Jack White.

Lindsay: I’d have to say Will.I.Am. Working with both of them at the same time would be pretty cool.

How would you describe the sound of your music?

Lindsay: I think elements from all genres of music incorporate into our own style.

Kristy: Like our next single ‘Money Makes The Girl$ Go Round’ has it’s own sound. It has a little bit of humor with a rock feel and it makes it it’s own.

How do you feel that you’re different from other artists in your genre?

Kristy: I think it’s strange for us because people see us as a two blond ditzy bimbo singing rock act and they are surprised to see that we have a lot of musical experience.

Lindsay: we’re influenced by a lot of classic rock artists and I believe you can tell that through our songs.

What are some of your short-term and long-term goals you have lined out for yourself?

Kristy: We’re getting ready to premiere our new music video for ‘Money Makes The Girl$ Go Round’ at the end of January and it’s awesome.

Lindsay: We’re working on a reality series and we just finished up a feature film. Also, working with organizations such as The Wounded Warrior Project and PETA that are close to our hearts.

You recently began shooting a reality show – Can you tell us some about that?

Lindsay: We are currently working on a reality show for a major network and we’re really excited. It’s a different kind of reality show – it’s organic and natural. It will give people a behind the scenes look at O.H.M.

Kristy: We’re excited for fans to see what goes on with O.H.M.

What are some of your upcoming plans for promoting your music and/or reality show?

Lindsay: We’ll be playing with Sean Kingston in January and doing a lot of press for our new video, and also doing a lot of shows.

Kristy: That’s our favorite part of all this – going out and playing, being able to share our music with our fans.

VH1 Airs Entourage and Jersey Shore To Lure More Viewers

So I'm sure many of guys have been wondering why in the hell is VH1 been airing Entourage and Jersey Shore so much, well this article explains why. VH1 wants to  lure more viewers because of their ratings slump and to test out new programming ideas.

This is what a VH1 spokesman said:
"It was a way to test out show formats and formulas with our viewers and help drive promotion for the series back to our sister channel."

Lifetime is doing the same thing. Both networks have been borrowing shows from other networks to jump start themselves.

Vh1 wins multi-year telecast rights for Grammy Awards

MUMBAI: In a multi-year deal, Vh1 has bagged the rights for the music industry's biggest event The Grammy Awards which will air on 14 February at 6.30 am with a repeat at 9 pm.
Earlier the event was telecast on Star World.
Vh1 will be running content around the event from January to March. The show recognises various genres of music including pop, rock and classical.
Vh1 head Ferzad Palia said, “Our treatement of this event will be different. We are not looking at it as just a one off event. We want to give it the respect and worth it deserves which in the past might not have been the case. This will boost our reach and help increase perception. We expect the upper scale youth and older people to watch this."

With exciting programming around the event, contests to watch the show live in LA and a massive marketing campaign, Vh1 is dedicating the first 60 days of 2011 to the Grammy Awards.
"We are committed to making this the most watched telecast of the show ever in India," says Palia.
Over the next three months, shows and initiatives will kick off. The channel will kick off the 'Ticket to Ride to the Grammy' contest. While the modalities are being worked out, two winners will be flown to Los Angeles for the event.

The broadcaster will do a 360 degree marketing initiative to create awareness for this, covering multiple touchpoints including gyms, malls, cinema halls.

Casting Info For VH1's "Big Girls Club"

(Bad Girls Club)

“Step aside skinny bitches, the spotlight isn’t big enough for the both us. Big girls don’t cry… they freakin’ party!”

We have previously announced that VH1 is developing a show featuring plus size women. Well we have more information on it. This VH1 show will be inspired by Oxygen's Bad Girls club. It's basically like Bad Girls Club with plus size women.

The show will be produced by the same producers who produced MTV's Jersey Shore and VH1's My Big Friggin Wedding.

VH1's New 'Sex & the City' Reality Show .... For 'Big Women' Only

Plus size models work the runway at a fashion show during New York Fashion Week.

Do “big girls” have more fun than the likes of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha? Well, that’s what a new reality show is trying to prove.
Pop Tarts has learned that VH1, in association with Doron Ofir Casting and Left Right Productions, is now casting “the hottest, most bodacious, voluptuous single women in Los Angeles” for a brand new docu-series that will show “a long-awaited glimpse into the ultra-fab world of big girls!”
According to the casting release, “skinny bi**hes need to step aside” as this series is strictly for gals who “have their cake and eat it too.”
But this is certainly no weight-loss promotion program like “The Biggest Loser” or dating-related show like “More to Love.”
“There have been shows to spotlight bigger women, but there has never been a show to celebrate being a woman in a body type that they are totally comfortable with,” casting agent Doron Ofir told us. “This is going to be the ‘Sex & the City’ from big girls’ perspectives.”
And even in an industry that’s typically associated with skin and bone, there is no limit on how ‘big’ one can be for the small-screen show.
“I would say plus-sized and up, but I’m really looking for 5-6 girls that are organically interconnected with personality and a story,” Ofir continued. “We want girls with active social lives, a sense of style, who are dating, who love to raise the roof and are unapologetic about who they are and their size.”
On that note, the show’s main aim is to glorify the fuller female frame. “Time to show the world that big girls have more fun,”

Jay Leno Steals a Bit from VH1.com Blogger Rich

.

That Jay Leno steals jokes shouldn't surprise anyone anymore -- not even Taylor Swift

This week, Leno stole a bit for "The Tonight Show" from a VH1 blogger, got caught and -- unlike his years of mugging David Letterman and Howard Stern -- was forced to admit it.
On Monday's show, Leno played a series of video clips for Swift of the country-pop starlet's surprised reactions to winning various awards. When Leno showed the clip to Swift, he told her, "We put together a little montage of you being surprised."
Leno was using "we" pretty loosely. The bit was taken from Rich Juzwiak's FourFour.com blog, which posted the montage last week under the heading, "Taylor Swift is surprised." (It was also posted by VH1.com, where Juzwiak is a senior editor.)
Sean O'Rourke, a research coordinator for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno reached out to me for permission to show my Taylor Swift Is Surprised video during an upcoming sit-down interview with the pop star. ... Sean assured me I and/or my blog would get credit. Duh squared, that wasn't even a concern. ... In my response, I stressed how important it was for my friend Kate Spencer (who came up with the idea for the video in the first place) to be credited, too. ... Sean warned me that he couldn't promise any specific mention from Jay, but at the very least, our names would appear in the show's credits. Since Jay Leno tends toward the diabolical, I wasn't going to get my hopes up that he'd actually say my name on air.
But Leno nor "The Tonight Show" credits made any mention of Juzwiak or Kate Spencer.
What surprised me the most wasn't so much that Kate and I weren't mentioned, but that the video wasn't credited as having originated on the Internet. This is not an obscure work -- it's racked up over 200,000 views in a week! I thought at the very least, he'd give and indication of this thing's preexistence so that his viewers could hunt it down if they were so inclined. That was, apparently, expecting too much.
During the credits on Tuesday's "Tonight Show," Juzwiak and Spencer are credited. (Click here to see the screengrab.)
It's not the first time Juzwiak has had to fight for credit -- in May, Juzwiak had a dust-up with NPR over crediting for a segment about horror movies.
And it's not the first time Leno has stolen material and presented it as his own.
For starters, Leno's "Headlines" segment was directly lifted from Letterman's "Small Town News."
Howard Stern has long complained about Leno's thievery -- and claims Leno's "Jaywalking" bit is based directly on the Stern show's popular "Homeless Game."

MTV's Olivia Palermo: Ready for Her Own Show that Might be on VH1

Stepping out for the screening of “I Love You Phillip Morris,” Olivia Palermo was spotted at the New York's School of Visual Arts Theater on Monday night (November 22).
Upon arrival, the reality TV star babe looked fabulous while showing off her freshly cut and colored locks and posing for pictures alongside her hunky beau, Johannes Huebl.
And now that MTV’s “The City” has been canceled, it is being reported that Palermo has landed her very own reality show that will follow her every move.
Olivia's new gig is still in talks and has yet to be picked up by a network, but word has it, the Style network, Oxygen, MTV, VH1 or even E! might be interested.

ti_storytellers2

Just three days following the debut of his 7th album titled No Mercy, VH1 will premiere T.I.’s very own VH1 Storytellers special.  Taped at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom, the event features tracks from his newest album No Mercy as well as hits from his critically acclaimed releases including, I’m Serious (“Still Ain’t Forgave Myself”), King (“Live in the Sky”), Urban Legend (“Motivation,” “Bring Em Out”) and Trap Muzik (“Rubber Band Man,” “I Still Luv You”).  VH1 Storytellers: T.I ., will air on Friday, December 10th at 11/10C on VH1.

One example came later in the show during one of his most poignant songs, “Live in the Sky” where he opened up about the subject of the song by saying, “Before I could make my way to real success my cousin found himself in a situation and he took the bad end of a gun and lost his life in the same house as his 3-year-old son and his wife. That just hit me real hard and for him to have had as big of a part in the beginning of my career and not be there to see it turn into what it has turned into today opened up a lot feelings and emotions to me that I just had to put into music.”

New Kim Kardashian Show on VH1?

Kim Kardashian.

Okay. As we all know, the Kardashian sisters are taking over Manhattan, and Kim's doing somethin' "extra special" for her birthday on Friday. Something I'm pretty sure is one small step below prostitution, but I guess that's par for the

kourse with these girls

She already had her "private party" at Taos in Vegas, but if you're raring to have some birthday fun (redux!) with She Of The Gravity-Defying Posterior, you're in luck!
For the low price of $2,000, you can spend Kim Kardashian's 30th birthday drinking Grey Goose with Kim Kardashian! And all the other fools who paid $2,000 to do so. Alright.
Wonder if this will be shown on the girls' upcoming reality show, Kardashians Rule Manhattan, The Rest Of Us Suffer Under Their Iron Fist, set to premiere on VH1.

New VH1 Series: ‘We’re in Production Now.

Interviewed on Musings of a Muse, Beverly Hills salon owner Elgin Charles— whose celeb clients include Star Jones, Diahann Carroll and Hattie Winston— reveals the name of his new VH1 reality series, and how it came to be“ They approached me,” Elgin, who appeared on Style Network’s ast year, tells host Suncera Johnson. “I was doing Star’s [hair] at The Insider and I had to leave to go pitch at VH1. So I took two of my other stylists that were on Split Ends with me and we went and pitched“I went there with everything that I had I even had a makeup artist beat my face full of makeup“I sat down with four of their execs, and we started talking about the salon—it was supposed to be a 25-minute meeting and it turned into about an hour and 15 minutes.“Then, a week later, they called me and said, ‘You know what? We like you and we want to develop a show for you,’” continues Elgin.“We’re in production now. Money has been transferred. The show has been green- it. We’re starting to tape on Sept. 15, and the name of the show is Beverly Hills Fabulous.“The goal of the show is to bring you into the world of hair styling, the world of Beverly Hills and the world of the black community, and how we interact with the different aspects of the fashion and beauty industries.” Elgin also reflects on raising his adopted son, Frank, with Jackée (with whom he split in 2003), who’s perhaps best known for the spunky yet no-nonsense characters she played on 227 and Sister, Sister.“Being an actress—you know actresses can be very temperamenta themselves, and you’re dealing with a pessimistic child—so I’ve to be like a peacemaker between the two,” he says of Frank, 16, and Jackée.“But now that he’s grown up, he’s mature—and he needs his mother.”
